Andres Carrion (he/they)
Hi! I’m Andres Carrion (he/they). I am a professional counseling student at Northwestern University and a psychotherapist in training at Roamers Therapy.
As a person-centered and multicultural oriented therapist, it is my philosophy that you know yourself better than anyone else and that it is your right to guide the therapeutic process. I strive to meet clients where they are at. I believe that you are a unique individual with diverse experiences and there is value in that. The differences that make you, you, should not only be seen, but understood and validated.
Over the past five years, I have worked in research concerning the health inequities of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community, particularly among folks of color. Through my work, I have learned the importance of listening to your stories and the value of empowering your voice.
My therapy style is collaborative, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I focus on your strengths and work alongside you in order to promote personal growth. As your therapist, I will listen empathetically and non-judgmentally in order to create a safe space where you can be free to explore your emotions, fears, and other complexities of your identity. Together, we will work to create goals that will help you become the best version of yourself.
Things that bring me joy: spending time with family and friends, my dog and cat, social justice, drag, watching scary movies, and listening to music!
