Raquel d’Escoto (she/her)

Hi! I’m Raquel d’Escoto (she/her).

Life can give us experiences of fun and excitement. At the same time, there are periods where day-to-day life becomes overwhelming. When these waves of overwhelm arrive, we can experience difficulty identifying ways to deal with our feelings. We may struggle in naming what we are feeling and subsequently experience a sense of impossibility and helplessness. Through my work with individuals and couples, I developed a repertoire of interventions to guide my clients who are struggling with relational issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.

As a modern, eclectic, and trauma informed therapist, I recognize and understand the importance of creating a space that enhances your ability to be expressive and be met with a non-judgmental perspective. To aid you in this process, I utilize insight-oriented Psychodynamic Therapy to help you deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships. In addition to helping you gain insight, I utilize evidence based approaches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Gottman Method Relationship Counseling to help you have the change you desire through tools and skills building.

My approach is collaborative and tailored specifically for you. As your therapist, I will strive to build a relationship that is trusting and meeting you where you are at. Pulling from various therapeutic approaches, I will help you empower yourself by working through the difficulties you are facing and developing coping strategies that will stay with you for years to come.

I fully acknowledge the importance of sharing one’s life story and I will manage that with care and attention. I am honored to work with you, get to know you, and to hear your life story.
